Penny will bring us to a slamming stop sometimes when we're hurrying along with her on lead. Recently I met a man who has beagles that can sniff out termites - a problem in our area. I told a non-dog-owning friend who has just had to renovate half her house because of termites and she might employ the dogs to check out the rest of her house. We live in the bush and to go for a walk with Kelly, watching him smell very blade of grass, to be running full tilt, then do a U Turn to stop dead and smell something he ran past, is really quite something.
